“Thinking ‘here goes nothing’ could be the state of everything.” – Mel Robbins
Happy Wise Words Wednesday,
Today, I was inspired to share with you all a book that has allowed me to get more done and start new projects without being stuck in analyzes paralyzes. The 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins is a book on productivity that digs into human psychology and how humans take action.
What separates dreamers from achievers is the actions they take. The dreamer sits around analyzing, wishing, waiting for the perfect time, or other people’s support. The achiever got up and got to work. The achiever doesn’t wait for someone else’s approval, or the perfect season, they just do it. If you want to go from a dreamer to an achiever TODAY use this strategy and you will never fail.
The 5 Second Rule: How It Works
The next time you have a productive thought count down 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. When you reach one, just as a rocket, you are going to launch up and get started on what you want to accomplish. Analyzing will no longer work, take action and your life will change. The reason why this strategy is so effective is because our brains has a 5 second window to act on an idea. If you didn’t take action within those 5 seconds your mind and body stay stagnant / paralyzed. You are a creator and to create and live within your highest purpose you must shoot up each day and create. Stop living mediocre or limited, these stages no longer benefit you.
In today’s episode I go into the strategy of the 5 second rule and something that has helped my productivity in the mornings.
